From Darkness to Light

These verses were so very exquisite to me today.

To open their eyes... turn them from darkness to light, from Satan to God. I am overwhelmed with this. How I can never deserve what He has done for me! It is absurdly phenomenal.

There is a defined pattern in my last six years. He saved and claimed me, and promptly I failed and stumbled at every step. I tried, and many times did not try- sometimes I just laid down in the mud I knew was everything He hated.
There was a time that I ran away from Him, obstinately embracing the darkness he had pulled me from. The sins I thought I would never do, I threw myself into. And out of that, again, he called me.

How beautiful is our King? To take the lowest and weakest filth and love it into light, into something to mirror Himself. To glorify and honour Someone I never deserve to honour!

I am so broken by His love, by the mercy He has over me! I have struggled to lean, to trust, abide and depend on Him, and He knew my struggle. I'm sure He's been working on it for much longer, but in the last two years I can finally see His lessons on leaning. I can see I am learning, that He is the miracle Teacher, and that my potential as a student is completely irrelevant. There is no struggle when I trust the One who died for me.

I think what I see more than anything since I was saved- He will get what He's paid for. I belong to Him, and He loves me with an everlasting love that will pursue me to the ends of the earth and all eternity. Because I'm His, and He is the only heavenly Father.
