Married!

Holding both of my parents close on either side, and struggling to keep in my tears as I walked down the aisle toward my chosen future, I was filled with an intense wonder... How many times I have tried to choose my own path, attempted to wander away from what the Lord had for me, determinedly setting my face towards purposes or people he was not blessing.

Yet still, even still, he pulled me back and set me straight, redirected my aim and feet, called me gently, time after time. And then blessed me, time after undeserving time.

I was, that moment, filled with the wonder of His goodness, long suffering and grace. His intense, unfailing mercy. Smiling through tears at the man the Lord gave to me, surrounded by the ones I love, I cried in joy to be blessed by Him, and for the love we have for each other. How different our paths are when He chooses them, and how shocking the contrast when we are fighting Him.

Some things are almost too precious and beautiful to touch with words of explanation. There's a fear that it isn't possible, and any attempt would only cheapen the moment instead of sharing it purely. I feel like my wedding day was full of such moments... Yet still, too precious not to share.

Time moves so quickly.  We've already been married a month,  and it feels like just yesterday I called him "husband" for the very first time, promising with all my being to do so for the rest of my life.

It was a beautiful day, and every day has only been sweeter still... I'm sure the future holds storms and waves, of arguments, stressful finances, painful moves, and anxious unknowns. But, waking each day to his face, to his hand in mine as we talk with Him each morning, I know again that we are blessed. And He will keep our feet and paths, just as He has before.
